MAT has helped him correct his muscular imbalances and increase his contractile efficiency. Through MAT, Michael has been able to return to work confident in his ability to perform at a high level.

With MAT, the focus is bridging the gap between injuries and dysfunction to athletic training and athletic performance. These services combine with sports performance training to help athletes avoid injury, recover from injury and improve performance as quickly as possible. Michael has devoted his life to helping people. As a firefighter, he is on the scene to aid in extreme and sometimes life-threatening situations. As a MAT practitioner, he is helping athletes perform at a higher level, as well as assisting everyday people in transitioning from injuries and surgeries to a full recovery.

What is Muscle Activation Techniques?

MAT is a powerful assessment tool which analyses and corrects muscular imbalances that possibly lead to pain, dysfunction, and limited mobility via the nervous system. MAT specifically focuses on the muscular system. The goal is to understand why some muscles might be weak while others are tight. Once this weakness/tightness has been identified on a joint, MAT uses the nervous system to reestablish the contraction of the muscle(s) which ultimately creates more stability on the joint and further mobility.

Benefits of Muscle Activation Techniques:

  • Help athletes of any level prevent injuries
  • Reduce spasms and cramping caused by muscle inhibition
  • Help Speed up recovery from minor injuries to post-surgical
  • Alleviate adverse effects of injured, tired, and overused muscles
  • Get the body to optimal efficiency and keep the muscular system stable
  • How Muscle Activation Techniques works:
  • Range of Motion testing indicates which muscles have decreased contractibility or muscle weakness.
  • Precise forces are applied to restore that muscle’s efficiency.
  • A re-evaluation is completed to confirm the increased communication between the muscle and brain.
